October 30, 2025

The Information Commissioner's Office, in collaboration with the Meemu Atoll Council, held a training program in M. Mulah on October 28, 2025, regarding the proactive disclosure of information by state institutions under Article 37 of the Right to Information Act. The main objective of this training, organized at the initiative of the Meemu Atoll Council, was to clarify the responsibilities of state institutions under the Right to Information Act and to provide assistance in further strengthening the obligation for proactive disclosure of information.

The training program, which included 23 participants representing all councils in Meemu Atoll, provided participants with information on proactive disclosure. Furthermore, assistance was provided regarding the steps councils need to take to improve information disclosure and the preparation of information required to be disclosed under the law.

It is hoped that this training will further strengthen the information disclosure efforts of institutions within Meemu Atoll. The Meemu Atoll Council and the M. Mulaku Council are among the institutions that have disclosed all information required to be proactively published.
