Information Commissioner Hussain Fiyaz Moosa resigns from post

Hussain Fiyaz Moosa has resigned from his post as the Second Information Commissioner of Maldives.

Mr Hussain Fiyaz has today sent a letter to the President regarding his decision to resign from his post as Information Commissioner, as stipulated in Article 49 of the Right to Information Act.

During mr Hussain Fiyaz's tenure as Information Commissioner, he held open hearings, initiated the establishment of "Mahoali activists", strengthened relations with foreign countries and organizations, formulated a draft method of classifying information, and information requesting information. A new form has been prepared to prevent further than the amount, and from March 31, 2021, state authorities have been asked to introduce the form, and an online portal has been established to make it easier for the public to submit information.

Hussain Fiyaz Moosa was appointed as the second Information Commissioner of the Maldives by the President on 31 October 2019.
